Wowed By God

My dear Sisters in Christ:

May is here already - Mother’s Day, graduations, birthdays, finals, book fairs, scholarship applications, college entrance deadlines, summer plans, and the list goes on... In all of your endless activity, myself included, let’s remember to have our quiet time with the Lord and keep our focus ever true to Him. He alone is our Provider, our Healer, our Comforter. He is our all in all. We look to Him so often for the blessings He gladly gives. But shouldn’t we look to Him for more? After all, He is our Creator and as such we have need of Him.

We were recently blessed abundantly through the essay contest I had assigned to Angela. You have all heard us share how God blessed her in winning the West South Central region in the “Being an American” Essay Contest. There were over 31,500 entries nationwide in a total of nine regions. Of the twenty-seven finalists, five were homeschoolers and four of them placed first in their respective regions. We were in awe. Our Ang was one of the first place winners! God had shown Himself faithful to us and to Ang. With the media involved, we want to give God the glory. Before our friends and family, we want to give God the glory. We realize it was more than Ang writing a paper and submitting it. God chose her essay. She represents Him.

We have been privileged to study “Esther- Its Tough Being a Woman” by Beth Moore. Beth has brought out some thoughts on timing. Sometimes we just have to wait on God’s time, sometimes it’s entrusted to us to take the initiative and sometimes we have to wait on the other person or persons. When God organizes the timing, things fall into place. And we are wowed!

Sisters, in closing I want to encourage you to wait on the Lord and be of good cheer. His plans do not fail. Whatever seems a negative in your life right now, He’ll turn to good - all in His time. Happy Mother’s Day and congratulations Graduates!!
