More Than Just the Whole Enchilada!

Fiesta Dinner & Auction Was More Than Just the Whole Enchilada!

As we met to plan an event that was a first for many of us, we asked the Lord to direct our steps. We soon realized that He had brought us to team our gifts and talents for the success of this event. This event was going to be bigger than just the whole enchilada! Enchilada dinner, that is!

We were so excited every time we met as God blessed us with the plan for this event. Initially, we had set a date for the event to be sooner however we realized that we needed more time to plan in the direction that we felt led. After the date was reset, many volunteered to serve wherever needed.

On the day of the event, after working all day at their place of employment, many arrived early to help. Others joined us after school! Thank you to those who helped with decor, greeting & ticket sales!

Many thanks to all of the chefs for such a delicious Fiesta Dinner of enchiladas by Johnny, rice by Carol, Abby, & team, and beans by Maria & Gama Flores. Thanks to all those whose specialty was homemade salsa (not the dance). From mild to flaming hot, all of the salsas were enjoyed. Maria's "limonada" was perfectly refreshing!

And what's a delicious dinner without a delicious dessert? We had so many delicious homemade desserts of all flavors, shapes, and sizes! Thanks to all of the bakers! Jenny and the dessert team did such a sweet job serving the "blue ticket" holders. Thanks!

A "MUCHO" thanks to all of those men who served in the kitchen, helped clean, and set everything back in order! Your strength was greatly needed! You were "simply" great!

The highlight of the evening featured the talents of our own Destiny musicians and singers led by Tony Romo. The night was illuminated as the celebration of praise in English and Spanish resonated. The evening was alive with praise!

Tony and Friends, you brought such delight in celebration while many of the Destiny family joined you! Thank you musicians, singers, and dancers! To God be the glory!

We are grateful for the many generous contributions donated for the Silent Auction from many area businesses. The value of meeting all of those who contributed to the auction surpassed the value of the item donated. From our hearts, we thank you for being part of this worthy endeavor to raise funds that will benefit the women.

Thanks to Tino & Cecilia (and those assisting) for their expertise shared throughout the auction. An added attraction were the many great "door prizes" randomly given away! What a great time!

Again, hats off to all who helped before, during, and after this great fundraising event held by the Simply Beautiful Women's Ministry. To all those who attended, thank you for your love and support!

Later this week, we will begin plans for our Fiesta Dinner 2010! Any volunteers for '10?

Serving together for His glory!
