Last month "You Are God's Favorite" was the theme throughout the personal stories as shared by twelve of our Simply Beautiful women. Each story highlighted the unique details of God's amazing favor. Be encouraged by the following excerpts."If you are saved then you are favored. You are surrounded with His favor."
"To be accepted by God is to be highly favored."
"Because of His favor our prayers are answered."
"His Word is proof of His favor."
As a new Christian, one women prayed for someone to teach her about the Lord. Now, others have learned from her because her life is testimony of God's favor. She is blessed to be a blessing.
Sharing her story, a young teen girl spoke of God's favor. She and others needed funds for camp. When given funds for camp, she actually preferred someone else in greater need to take the funds given to her. Placing the need of another above her own, honored the Lord. In an unexpected way, camp funds were given for this young teen whose hope to attend camp became a reality. Along with others, she was able to attend camp because of His favor!
"The favor of God had a bargain for us at the grocery store! Food needed for an upcoming outreach was less than half the price of the original cost."
Another women shared the joy of knowing of her mother's salvation. Prior to her mother's death, her mother's written words of praise to the Lord for His great love and salvation were found in a book. Not aware of her mother's salvation, this delighted daughter glorified God when she found these beautiful writings as they were an assurance of her mother's place in eternity.
"God's favor will make changes to situations and even in the hearts of staff at the work place for my benefit and His glory!" said one women who had faced conflict at work.
"The favor of the Lord has made a way for us to help others in need as He has opened doors for us to feed and clothe orphaned children in Mexico."
A woman who learned that trusting God was vital to victorious living said,"Sometimes the favor of God is not quickly identified and may seem to appear as a negative situation. Sometimes we allow ourselves to be surrounded by situations rather than His promises.
We must trust God and believe that His favor surrounds us like a shield. Rejoice! He is forever for us!"
Psalm 5:11,12
"But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You.
Let them ever shout for joy because you defend them.
Let those also who love your name be joyful in You.
For You, O Lord will bless the righteous;
With favor you will surround them like a shield."
We also enjoyed some favorite salads brought by the Simply Beautiful women. From among the tossed greens, veggie dips, and delicious fruit salads, there was one salad that earned the Simply Beautiful Summer Salad Award! The recipe is yours to enjoy compliments of Janie Zepeda. Thank you Janie for sharing the recipe even though you do not claim it to be a Zepeda orginal. You DID make it famous with all of us who enjoyed it! We'll call it "Z Broccoli Summer Salad"!
Z Broccoli Summer Salad
(Mix in bowl)
(Mix in bowl)
1 lrg. bunch of chopped broccoli
1 sm. chopped red onion
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup sunflower "seeds/nuts"
6-8 slices of bacon (crumble) or 1/2 cup of real bacon bits
1 cup mayo
1/4 sugar
2 Tbls. of vinegar
Add portions for quantity and taste desired. Chill or serve at room temp.
